#CreativeSprint Day 19

Day 19

Scan a newspaper or news-site and make something inspired by today’s headlines.

The FY 2017 budget for the city of Richmond has been in our headlines for proposed cuts to our school system. There were talks of closing several schools including the beloved Armstrong High School, which was set up initially as the first school for African-Americans in the area. The school has always been a target for closure in Richmond, VA. The city tried to close the school several years back and after much debate was merged with John F. Kennedy High School which was renamed Armstrong. It is currently the only high school in the East End area of Richmond. My Afro is made of shredded money from the Federal Reserve Bank.

My son also made me an Afro out of marbles on this day.
