Art Afro #186 – “Deflated ‘Fro” by Unicia R. Buster – January 28, 2016

“Deflated ‘Fro” by Unicia R. Buster

Last night, my son and I cut off the ends of all of the balloons, thereby deflating them, in preparation for today’s Afro which is just an arrangement of the parts. I have to admit, I tested it out and completely hated it. (That’s why “Curlicue” happened – see previous post). But the second try is pretty cool. I may even consider adhering it to something … nah! Anyway, I have a few more left over decoration items that I can make Afros from. What shall I do next week?

Side note: I can’t believe it’s been a little more than 6 months on this journey. It’s amazing to look at all I’ve created. I am still astonished. I know I can devote this same energy to all other projects, taking it one day at a time because before I know it, I would have finished. And because of this project, I have some great ideas for future quilted art pieces (even though just a few days ago was the first time I’ve quilted in almost a year). But when this project ends, it will be 365 Quilt (but not necessarily individual pieces, but to sew everyday for 365 days). I can’t wait to see what would come of that. In the meantime, when is the next #CreativeSprint?

Last night’s grouch face first attempt.
