It seems like my days are growing shorter and shorter. Given the time of year, it makes sense, however taking it one step further, it feels like I wake up in the morning and 5 minutes later, it’s time for lunch. I am grateful that my days aren’t boring, but I like balance. Each days ‘to do list’ is getting longer and the ‘done list’ is getting shorter. I don’t like having to decide what needs to get done on any given day and what can wait because I like just getting it all done. I feel as incomplete as an undone ‘to do list.’
Anyway, I didn’t spend much time on this Afro. This is a craft I do often with patients. It’s inexpensive and easy to complete. AC Moore sells little flat wooden figures for about 25 cents each (the price keeps going up). I also purchase a roll of magnet tape to add magnets to the back of the wood piece. We decorate the fronts and then instant magnet. There are so many ways these things can be decorated – with paint, ribbon, beads, scrapbook paper, collage, buttons, etc. During a moment of brief insanity, I grabbed one to reduce my own anxiety and went at it with just a pen for about 5 minutes. Afro: checked.
