The #CreativeSprint challenge for Day 6:

Make something with your eyes closed.

I had a really tough time with this one. In fact, I procrastinated doing it. I’m not afraid of making mistakes or having it be something unpleasant. For me, someone who can barely see without eye glasses, seeing is everything to me. It’s like the sun to superman. My eyes literally feed my soul. I’m a very visual person. I can dance without music, eat without taste, enjoy a rose without smelling it and be touched without feeling it. But to experience the world without sight? It’s really hard for me and it’s ironic because my eyesight is my weakest sense.

Nevertheless, I did it (I spent less than 15 seconds on it) using a black Crayola crayon. I kept trying to “see” with my fingers, which of course is what braille is all about. I’m amazed that the eye looks like an eye. It felt like I was making the eye ball in the wrong spot. And I definitely lucked out on the mouth (though I drew it over the neck). I actually like the drawing. It reminds me of Picasso.
