With Hurricane Joaquin come towards us for the weekend, heavy winds and slight rainfall has already covered my area here in Richmond. Though – and I’m not a meteorologist – I don’t expect we’ll get much damage, I do expect a few fallen trees and debris. I have some tall plants (I believe they are cannas but their flower have never actually bloomed – they always die or dry out as soon as they bud) that my mom gave me a couple years ago and some of the leaves were dying do to the population of meal worms that inhabits them. So I cut them off and made this wild haired lady. I used the closed petals from the flowers to make her lips and the dried up balls at the top of the plant to make her eye.
