Lunch time seems to be a great time for me to draw. Not only is it convenient, it also relaxes me and takes me to another place. As soon as the pencil hits the paper, excessive energy that had been bottled up in my neck and shoulders, flow down my arms and through my hands. My mind slows down as I focus on the task at hand and I drift into my own imaginings.

Although it doesn’t look like her having got a few proportions wrong, this is my best friend from middle school. Since 1989, she has been my kindred spirit no matter how far the distance. And when we talk, it’s as if time has not passed us by.

Color pencil drawing.
