Before I went home last night, I had every intention of making something beautiful out of fabric – as fabric is my favorite medium and natural hair, of course, is my favorite subject – to mark my 30th day of this project with a bang. However, after walking home from work, running a couple of errands, fixing dinner and eating, I no longer had any intention of spending the last remaining 2 hours of my day dragging out my fabric bins, scissors, sewing machine, thread, rulers, scrap paper, marking pens, straight pins and cutting mat to then still have to find the time to get creating. The thought was exhausting enough.

One day I will have a room set up as an art studio and I could just walk in and get to work on the fun stuff. Right now, everything’s in a bin or box and buried under other bins and boxes.

So, for the time being, a small container of coloring pencils and a drawing book will have to do. I decided for the next few days to just have some fun with coloring pencils. It used to be my favorite drawing medium as a child – and it’s probably my better drawing medium because of it. But practice makes perfect.

I have chosen a few pictures from my friends’ Facebook pages who rock natural styles. The first is of Danielle Belton. Original picture below.
